It is the second Castlevania title for the Game Boy and serves as a sequel to Castlevania: The Adventure. Belmont's Revenge is included in color in the European Konami GB Collection Vol.4 compilation. Set fifteen years after the events of Castlevania: The Adventure, Dracula returns and kidnaps Christopher Belmont's son Soleil at his coming of age feast, and turns him into a demon. With Soleil's mystical powers, Dracula retakes human form and rebuilds his castle, forcing Christopher to confront Dracula once again to save his son and Transylvania. Unlike the previous Game Boy title, sub-weapons in the form of holy water and axes (or the cross in the Japanese version) are available in the game. There are four initial levels, each taking place in a separate castle with a unique theme such as air, plant, earth, and crystal, and can be completed in any order, similar to Mega Man.

It was released on December 22, 1989, in Japan, September 19, 1990, in North America and in May 1992 in PAL regions by Konami's Palcom publishing label. Despite being the third numbered installment in the Castlevania series, Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is a prequel to the original Castlevania (1986), being set a few centuries before its events. The game's protagonist is Trevor Belmont, an ancestor of Simon Belmont, who is called into action to vanquish the forces of Dracula. Relinquishing the role-playing and action-adventure elements from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, the game returns to the action-platforming gameplay of the original Castlevania but also introduces new concepts to the formula such as branching level paths and multiple playable characters. Castlevania III received positive critical reception.

It was later ported to the Atari Lynx by Atari Corporation in 1993, and was also re-released as part of Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden Trilogy Super NES compilation in 1995. Long after, it was released for the Virtual Console service in North America in 2008 for the Wii and in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS. It was designed by Masato Kato, who took over for Hideo Yoshizawa, the designer of the first two games in the NES series. The game is the third installment of the Ninja Gaiden trilogy in terms of release, but is chronologically set between the first two games in the series, Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos.

Mega Man Xtreme 2 is a 2001 platform game developed and published by Capcom for the Game Boy Color. It is a spin-off title in the Mega Man X series and a follow-up to Mega Man Xtreme, which was released the previous year. Mega Man Xtreme 2 is set in the 22nd century between the events of Mega Man X3 and Mega Man X4. The DNA souls of robots known as "Reploids" are being stolen and used to create an army of undead "Mavericks". The "Maverick Hunters" X and Zero quickly spring into action with the help of their young ally Iris. Gameplay in Mega Man Xtreme 2 is similar to that of earlier Mega Man games, retaining most elements from the home-console versions of the series, but adding the ability to switch between characters, use unique abilities and obtain upgrades through "DNA Souls" collected from fallen enemies. Each character has a different set of stages and bosses; defeating the stage's boss will earn the character a special weapon.

It is the second installment in the Ninja Gaiden trilogy for the NES and was released in North America and Japan in 1990, and in Europe in 1994. An arcade version was released by Nintendo for their PlayChoice-10 system in 1990. The events in Ninja Gaiden II take place one year after the events in the first Ninja Gaiden game. The story involves an evil emperor named Ashtar who, after hearing of Jaquio's defeat, devises a plan to take over the world and engulf it in darkness through an evil sword called the Dark Sword of Chaos. A U.S. Army agent named Robert T. Sturgeon recruits the game's protagonist Ryu Hayabusa and tells him that he is the only person who can stop Ashtar.

It is the fifth installment of the original Mega Man series and was released in Japan on December 4, 1992. It saw a release during the same month in North America and in 1993 in Europe by Nintendo. It takes place two months after the events of Mega Man 4. Mega Man's brother and ally Proto Man apparently leads a group of menacing robots in attacks on the world and kidnaps his creator Dr. Light, forcing Mega Man to fight against his brother. Assisted by Dr. Cossack, the scientist he met in the previous game, Mega Man has to figure out the truth about what happened and rescue Dr. Light. Mega Man 5 carries over the same graphical style and action-platforming gameplay as the four preceding chapters in the series. The game introduces a new character, Beat, a robotic bird that the player can use as a weapon once a series of eight collectible letters are found.

Mega Man 4 carries on the same action and platforming gameplay as the first three games, in which the player completes a series of stages in any order and adds the weapon of each stage's boss to Mega Man's arsenal.

It was the sixth best selling Game Boy Color game in Japan, with 563,914 copies sold. A planned sequel to the original game, titled Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble 2, was shown at Nintendo Space World 2001, which was being developed for the GameCube and was planned to require Game Boy Advance connectivity. Video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto demonstrated the gameplay, showing Kirby falling off a ledge on the television screen to the Game Boy Advance screen. He also mentioned that the player could write "programs", such as minigames, into the game cartridge. Originally planned for release in May 2002, the game was retitled as Roll-O-Rama, replacing Kirby with a marble ball. While shown at E3 2002, the title was never released. The player controls the samurai Hayato in 16th century Japan as they attempt to retrieve five scrolls and a sacred sword from evil warlocks and spirits led by Oda Nobunaga. The game was released as Sword of the Hwarang in South Korea with multiple visual differences. Hayato is altered to look like a Hwarang warrior and the levels are changed to be set in Korea. Kenseiden received positive reviews from critics. Kenseidan is a side-scrollingaction-adventure game set in Japan. Each level is set in an ancient Japanese province where the player is tasked. After A certain point, the player can play levels in whatever order they choose, and can go back to previous levels at anytime except for the final level.

However, Jack the Ripper is indeed responsible, for he is using the victim's bodies and fresh blood forsacrificial offerings – as part of a darkritual being performed by Count Massen to resurrect Dracula. Also taking some part in the murders and the dark ritual is a mysterious Psychic Girl, who is possessed by an evil Skull Spirit. The game requires the player to battle their way through five rounds, which are divided into three lengthy stages.

Shinobi was originally planned for the Dreamcast, but due to the discontinuation of the console, the game was moved to the PS2. The game was designed to emphasize the action elements of action-adventure gameplay and appeal to the action market. Other gameplay elements resulted from a desire to mix old and new elements. Upon release, Shinobi was generally well received by critics.

Along with some help from his old friends, Mega Man finds potential allies in the mysterious robot pair Bass and Treble, who are later revealed to be in league with Wily. In terms of gameplay, Mega Man 7 follows the same play style introduced in the 8-bitNES titles, but updates the graphics and sound of the series for the more powerful SNES.
